Gender in Entertainment INdustry
Curator's Statement
We set out to answer the question, What are the attitudes and opinions of women involved with the film industry? We decided to look into this topic do to recent events within the film industry, as well as a long history of issues within the film industry that targets women. We wanted to connect the concepts we have learned about in class pertaining to thinking anthropologically about gender to the concept of women actors, directors, and more. By focusing on a specific entertainment industry we hoped to find answers to our original question, but also to expand our knowledge of how gender affects every aspect of life. We mentioned that we are focusing on the film industry, but it was important for us to ensure gender discrimination and other forms of inequality may take place within different areas of a working environment
